Bathrooms

If I had to pick the hardest space to do a simple redo it would have to be the bathroom. Unless you have lots of money to redo the floors, vanity area, bath or shower you are pretty much stuck with what you got. That is why you have to be creative. New mirrors, shower curtain, paint, wallpaper and lighting to name a few can really freshen up a space. Here are a few examples and inspirations of some gorgeous bathrooms that might inspire you to give yours a face lift.

I love wallpaper in powder rooms. Shootfactory
A massive crystal chandelier adds glamor to any bathroom. Apartment Therapy
Gray adds warmth to this bathroom while the chest gives off some great textile.
I adore this color combo.
What a perfect contrast between the floor, tub and paper. Above 3 from Living Etc.
This is one fabulous bathroom by Holly Becker! haus maus
The shower curtain is a great example of adding a pretty textile to an otherwise normal bathroom.
My favorite bathroom of all times!
Adding a statement mirror and an accent table gives this room a lived in feel.
This is just fun.
Add paper, a whimsical mirror, chandelier and you get oohlala.
Another favorite of mine.
Uniting the floor and wall with a 2 color pallet adds major drama. The whole set up is gorgeous.
Simple and serene.
Another great mirror.
I love the black and white striped rug with all of the natural elements. Above 10 from Domino
Lovely wall of mirrors.
I thought this glass ball chandelier was so clever in this bathroom.
Another great furniture piece in a bathroom.
The green textile draped over the tub is lovely!
Try painting your floor a fun pattern instead of papering your walls.
The faux wood paper looks great next to the silver basin.
Another wonderful example of a papered bathroom.
You can never go wrong with black and white. Above 8 from House to Home

Painting your cabinets a dark mocha would give an instant face lift.
This shabby chic bathroom got its look from the mirror, pendants and the simple flower arrangement. Easy transformation.
Here is another view. Above 3 from Point Click Home

This flickr family picked a great paper for there walls.

These are all so cool!

I'm hoping it's just a strange photo angle, but the bathroom with the yellow walls and the cool white light fixture looks like the fixture would prevent the door from closing. is it just me?

Great observation Lisa!
The angle is a little odd because I have seen other views of this room and it is not in the way. It is a giant fixture so you would have to be extra careful where you would place it.

ok...i thought i was going to see a few pictures...not a whole gallery. you truly gave my eyes something to feast on!!! I'm going to have to go back and seriously study them; however, off the top of my head :: "yes, yes I will take the HUGE chandelier over the free standing tub. that's what i want. total relaxation amidst sheer beauty." lovely post!!

I love finding great textiles for cshower urtains (although I think that one should touch the ground...shouldn't it?)...also love the bubble chandelier - so fun, love it!! great post.

What a fabulous collection... I have been eyeing some of these gorgeous photos for a long time!!!!!! A bath is sounding good after this post :)

SS, I personally like it when a shower curtain touches the ground but some prefer it shorter. I think it adds height when it hangs all the way down.

What a fabulous post! My favourite?? - the second one with the chandelier from apartment therapy - delicious! And the one with the pink and white striped chaise and the cow hide on the floor.... first i thought "hang on" what is she doing putting a bedroom in with the bathroom photos, and then I found the bathroom 'equipment' in the corner - so quirky and fabulous! x

I LOVE all the lights and mirrors - oh my! I always wonder how wallpaper stands up to bathrooms and all that moisture.

SimplyGrove said...

Ooooh, I can't wait to see your tub post Katie:)

SimplyGrove said...

Kimberlee, I was totally confused too until I noticed the fabulous tub and then I was smitten by the concept of dressing room and bathroom in one!

SimplyGrove said...

PS, moisture most definitely would seem to be wallpapers worst enemy so great point. I have personally known wallpaper to last forever in bathrooms. It might depend on how well the paper is installed. I'm not quite sure if water based paper would last as long as the original glue. Anyone else have any thoughts??

WOW...What a wonderful post..I am one of those who is stuck with some terrible fixtures and wallpaper in our rental. I hate it, and have been trying too figure out how I can create some distraction to the standards so to speak. Thank you so much for this post because it has re-sparked my motivation to make that space in our home better, even if my wall paper clashes with the floor...sigh..:)

Julia said...

You are fired! How can I handle this much beauty? This much creativity and spark? :)

I am drooling - seriously! These are such great inspiration. It is my dream to add a second bath to our house someday - any one of these would do!
