Feeling fall....

I am getting excited for Fall and everything that comes with it. Hot drinks, coats, fuzzy blankets and spicy scents. When it comes to decorating I don't fill me house with the traditional fall colors but I do love warm textiles and textures. I am in the process of recovering my pillows in all sorts of plaids. (Pictures to follow.)

Entryways

We all know or should know that what is seen the first moment we step foot into a home is so important. It sets the scene for the rest of your home. Why not make it fun and full of you. Here are some images to inspire us to enter right!

Room of the Day

I thought this would be a great room to view today:) It is so bright and cheery. I love all the gorgeous moldings and the vinyl wallpaper that resembles grass cloth. This entryway is simply fantastic!

Villa of the month

I'm thinking that someone should have a villa in the Waasland for me to come visit. That is if it looks like this.

JK’s Entryway

So I have an amazing friend who has a fabulous house that is so blog worthy its not even funny!! My friend, lets call her JK, is an incredible graphic designer so of course she has a natural eye for design. JK would only let me take pics of a few of her lovely rooms (I guess that will do) but when the rest of her oh so wonderful house is ready for pics I will post some more.
The first several shots are of her entry way. She purchased the mirror at a Home warehouse type store and painted it a super glossy white. (Oh how I would pay her for that mirror!) She made a cushion for the bench using a gorgeous black and white fabric and then added some cute silver containers for storage. Great job “JK”!

Entryway

I have a liking towards great entryways. Its the moment when people first judge and critique your home. Since it is the first and last thing a guest sees we better make it fabulous.
I put these options together for a great setup.
Some people prefer a table to set keys and misc items on. I prefer a bench for guests to sit comfortably when removing shoes or getting there stuff together. Both options are great, just find what works for you and your family. This Williams Sonoma bench is mahogany with bamboo detailing. It looks very cultured but chic. Love it.
Every entryway needs a great rug that is beautiful and durable.
I love the dusky purple shade of this Madeline Weinrib Brooke Lilac Chenille rug.
Walnut Wallpaper has many great variety’s of wallpaper to choose from.
This one is perfect for the entryway.
baroque mirror - white This mirror will be striking against the contrast of the wallpaper. I like contrast!! (Brocade Home)

I am in love with black crystal chandeliers.
They are glamorous and make such
a strong statement. I found this one on Ebay.

It is always a fun gesture to make available cozy slippers for your guests. Store them in this Montauk wicker basket from Ballards.
Erich Ginder Ghost Tree coat rack in Black
To finish this space off we need a quirky coat rack and I found the perfect one

Let me know what you think of this entryway presentation. Im thinking I need this for my own house!

Episode: The Foyer, photo 1
This wonderful lobby was created for “The Style Dept” by Suzann Dimma, Interior Designer and Home Design Director of Wish Magazine. I absolutely love the contrast of the dark wood, the dark floor, the white woods and the turquoise! What a way to walk in your house.
